Downtown Style Noodles at Killer Noodle on Sawtelle Blvd.

After checking out the ramen documentary “Ramen Heads” my wife and I were craving some noodles. Spicy noodles to be exact. It was fairly cool out and having something warm in our belly was going to hit the spot. This would be my second visit. I initially came here for their soft opening in which the first 300 people in line got a free bowl of noodles. I wrote about this in a previous post.

We had to wait for a few minutes because there was a party of 12 waiting to be seated in front of us and Killer Noodle won’t seat a party unless everyone is present. This place is also cash only. At least they have heat lamps that we could stand next to while we waited.

The killer noodle menu.

Below is how the downtown style arrives. I highly recommend getting all the extras. When you add the poached egg, chashu, and fresh cilantro it really adds to the experience. The egg and pork make the dish more rich. Adding the cilantro brings a great fresh balance to rich broth and noodles.

Pictured below is the Tokyo style, spicy level 1 that my wife enjoyed. I really liked this style because the peanut butter and sesame flavors really stick out. Delicious.
